How To Install Wordpress Using Fantastico In Cpanel
ByIn this tutorial I am going to teach you how to install Wordpress using the fantastico script in cpanel.
To install wordpress you need a linux hosting account with a hosting company. If you need hosting I recommend this company select the Baby package for $7.95 a month.
You will also need a domain name (e.g. yourblogbuilder.com).
Step One
Log into cpanel on your hosting account. If your host uses cpanel the login page is usually http://yourdomainname.com/cpanel (Replace yourdomainname.com with your actual domain name).
Step Two
Locate and double click the Fantastico icon.

Step Three
Select wordpress from the list of scripts (under blogs) then select new installation.

Step Four
Enter the installation details:
Installation Location
Install on domain – Select the domain name from the dropdown menu where you wish to install wordpress (There will only be one if you only have one domain name)
Install in directory – If you want to install the wordpress in a sub directory you need to enter the name in this field. Example: If I wanted my blog to be yourblogbuilder.com/blog/ I would enter the word blog (no / needed) also the directory must not already exist. If I just wanted yourblogbuilder.com I would leave it blank.
Admin access data
Administrator-username – This is the username you want to use to log into the admin area of your wordpress blog (DO NOT USE ADMIN).
Password – This is the password you want to use to log into the admin area (Use a mixture of letters and numbers).
Base configuration
Admin nickname – This is the name that will appear when you publish posts (This can be your name, use something different from your administrator username).
Admin e-mail – Enter your email address.
Site name – This will appear in the header of your blog and can be changed at anytime in the admin area.
Description (Also known as your tagline) – This will appear under the site name in the header of your blog can also be changed at anytime.
Click Install Wordpress.
As you can see in the image below I am installing this blog into a directory called blog.

Step Five
You will be taken to a page to confirm your installation details like this:

If you are happy with the installation details click Finish installation.
Step 6
You will now be taken to a page where you can email the details of your new Wordpress Blog. Enter your email address and click Send E-mail.
